Roll the Stone Away

Words and music: Danny Elliott   1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
This song also appeared on The Road by AVB, Acappella Resurrection by The Acappella Company, and Hear It In Our Voice: Volume II by The Acappella Company.
Lead: Danny Elliott
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

Chorus:
Roll the stone away, Roll the stone away
Lord God, Almighty gonna roll the stone away
You promised you'd rise, Lord, on the third day
Lord God, Almighty gonna roll that stone away

Repeat Chorus

Jesus was a man free from sin we know
Well He taught us that we reap the very things we sow
He taught us parables of life we see today
Hey, and on that third day He rolled that stone away

Repeat Chorus

They mocked Him and scourged Him and said his words were lies
But Jesus had compassion with pity in His eyes
And I can't wait to see what he has to say
Oh, how He felt when He rolled the stone away

Repeat Chorus

Well, He's coming back (hey) and that's one thing for sure
Well, He's looking for the blameless, the righteous, and the pure
And I can't wait to see what he has to say
Oh, how He felt when He rolled the stone away

Repeat Chorus (x2)

I said Lord God, Almighty gonna roll that stone away

Scriptural Reference:

"On the third day, he will rise again." Luke 18:33
"and they asked each other, 'Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?'  But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away."  Mark 16:3-4

I Won't Let Go

Words and music: Keith Lancaster 1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
Lead: Terry Cheatham
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

I wasn't living, wasn't forgiving
I was carrying my burdens all alone
I was mistaken, always was taken
From the Holy Family, 'til I made it back home

Chorus:
Now I won't let go of your caring hand
Leave behind the pain, rise above
Now I won't let go, 'cause I've got so much to gain
Now I won't let go of your love

I'm now confessin', I've learned my lesson
That the narrow way is better than the rest
There's nothing dearer, nothing is clearer
And I'll never leave your side when I'm put to the test

Repeat Chorus

Safe and warm when I'm by your side
I'll ever abide (by your side)
Confident, it's so good to know
I'll never let go, never let go

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Scriptural Reference:

"For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."  Philippians 1:21
"Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."  Matthew 7:13-14

I Know a Man

Words and music: Mike Ross 1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
Lead: Jay Smith
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

I know a man who says we can know what God has planned for us all to be
I know a man who says we can know what God has planned for us all to be
Can you tell me His name? Jesus Christ!
Tell me what is his aim? Give us life!  Right!
I know a man who says we can know what God has planned for us all to be

I know a man who died upon a tree that we might live eternally
I know a man who died upon a tree that we might live eternally
Can you tell me His name? Jesus Christ!
Tell me what is his aim? Give us life!  Right!
I know a man who died upon a tree that we might live eternally

Can you tell me His name? Jesus Christ!
Tell me what is his aim? Give us life!  Right!
I know a man who died upon a tree that we might live eternally

Scriptural Reference:

"The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead-- whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree.  God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel."  Acts 5:30-31

Father

Words and music: Keith Lancaster 1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
This song also appeared on The Road by AVB, Hear It In Our Voice: Volume III by The Acappella Company, and in Spanish as "Padre" on Caminando en la Luz by AVB.
Lead: Brett Testerman
Sample: Windows Media

Note that the verses are written in third person and the chorus is written in first person in part because, while the verses deal with a specific girl, we all need the Father that always cares.

Lyrics:

A little girl, she seems grown-up, who's only four
She's so confused without a father anymore
And if you listen as she's on her knees to pray
Each night so preciously her broken heart will say:

Chorus:
Where is my father? Has he gone away?
Why can't he always be here to stay?
Where is my father? Does he still care?
I need a father who's always there

He left their family and he headed for the coast
He left a time when they needed him the most
The emptiness is even worse than if he'd died
Caught in confusion you can hear this young girl cry

Repeat Chorus

He's never coming back, she wished that he would
It hurt's cause he doesn't care
But she has another, a Father who's good
A Father who will always be there

You are my Father; never go away
I know you'll always be here to stay
You are my Father; I know you care
I need a Father who's always there

You are my Father who's always there

Scriptural Reference:

"He is the father of us all."  Romans 4:16

You put a song in my soul when you made me

Your Spirit in my life well it makes me want to shout
I'm moved to sing with every beat of my heart
You put a song in my soul when you made me

People think I'm crazy when I'm praising your name
Well, I get so excited 'cause there's nothing quite the same
The smile on my face comes from the smile in my heart
You put a song in my soul when you made me

Repeat Chorus

I will still be singing 'til the day that I die
And Lord I heard you promise a home up in the sky
My joy is in your Spirit, and song in your name
You put a song in my soul when you made me! (C'mon)

Song in my soul, I will lift my voice to you
Song in my soul, And I'll give the praise to you
Song in my soul, I will give my life to you
Song in my soul!

Many criminals and one crime
One verdict, gonna do some time (and I said)
One ruling to each one
One victim known as the Son Of...

Chorus:
God, Jesus, Emmanuel
Become a man just to pay my bail (and I said)
Prince of Peace, and the King Of Kings
He taught me how to stop, Stop Doin' Those Things

He came to me in my cage
He came in love in the midst of my rage (and I said)
He opened up the door to my cell
And gained a victory o'er the gates of Hell (and I said)

Repeat Chorus

Glory! Glory! Jesus, you loosed the chains for me
And when you died upon the cross the wage of sin was then made free
Oh, you've taken the torture and the punishment that was mine

The Blessed Son of...

Heaven

Words and music: Danny Elliott 1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
This song also appeared on The Road by AVB.
Lead: Danny Elliott

Lyrics:

It's just a matter of time... Oooo yeah. Oooo yeah. Ooooo yeah

Chorus:
I'm singin now Heaven, Heaven, woh, it's a beautiful place
Singin now Heaven, Heaven, woh, it's a beautiful place

With the streets of gold and the crystal sea
God has made a place for you and me
Singin Heaven, Heaven, woh, its a beautiful place

And one of these days I'm gonna walk with God
He's gonna tell me about the things that I never saw
Singin Heaven, Heaven, woh it's a beautiful place

Well the time on Earth it seems so long
Things we go through they seem so wrong
But if we hang on long and hold on tight
God is gonna keep us deep in His sight

Oooo yeah. Oooo yeah
Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face
I'm gonna live with him forever, 'cause Heaven is a beautiful place!
This world is not our home, we're just a passing through
And someday I'll live in Heaven, 'cause our lives have all been made new!

Repeat Chorus

With the streets of gold and the crystal sea
God has made a place for you and me
Singin Heaven, Heaven, woh, its a beautiful place

Well the time on Earth it seems so long,
Things we go through they seem so wrong
But if we hang on long and hold on tight
God is gonna keep us deep in His sight

Those pearly gates they're gonna open wide
And all the Christians gonna step inside
So come on, brother, and keep your faith
Live your life in Jesus' name!

Kick it... Oooo yeah. Ooooo yeah

I'm singin now Heaven
Woa, I'm singing Heaven, I'm singing Heaven

I'm singing bout Heaven (repeat with lead insertions and fade)

And by our dedication we show our love for Him

And by His dedication our lives can be complete

Give Jesus Your Heart

Words and music: Keith Lancaster 1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
Lead: None
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

Heart, Heart, Heart, ooooooooo

Chorus:
You gotta give Him your heart!
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
All you've got to do is just, just give Jesus your heart
You gotta give Him your heart!
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
I say now all you've got to do is just, just give Jesus your heart

Well, there are many out there who haven't met the Lord
And there are many out there who haven't read His word
And there are many out there who don't know where to start
Just give Jesus your heart.

So give Him your heart!
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
All you've got to do is just, just give Jesus your heart

We must tell them in time so they can know His love
Yes, we must tell them in time of the power from above
We must tell them in time before there is no time
Just give Jesus your heart

The world is evil and is out for itself
The world is caring for nobody else
The world is bogus and it won't understand
The love and heart of the Man
The world needs Jesus or there's no need to live
The world without Him has nothing to give
The world is living in continous night
Let Him give you the light

You gotta give Him your heart!
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
All you've got to do is just give Him your heart
You know that all you've got to do is just, just give Jesus your heart
Just give Jesus your heart!
Just give Jesus your heart!

Scriptural Reference:

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart."  Jeremiah 29:13
". . . refresh my heart in Christ"  Philemon :20

Work at It

Words and music: Keith Lancaster and Rodney Britt 1989 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)/Clifty Music (BMI)
This song also appeared on The Early Years by AVB.
Lead: Bret Testerman
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

Commit to the Lord whatever you do
And all of your plans will succeed
In all of your ways acknowledge Him
And He will take care of your needs
So whatever you do whether work or play
Give your best everyday

Chorus:
You've gotta work at it with all of your heart (with all of your heart)
Work at it with all of your heart (That's workin not for man)
As working for the Lord and not for man
You've gotta work at it with all of your heart

You work at your job, you work hard at school
But the things of this life fade away
But if you work for the Lord it is never in vain
And he will guide your feet everyday
So with His word in your heart and His love in your soul
You can press on to the goal

Repeat Chorus

Anything that is worthwhile deserves your heart (You know that it deserves all your heart)
If you will not give it all don't even start (Don't even start)

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Work at it with all of your
Work at it with all of your
Work at it with all of your heart.

Scriptural Reference:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."  Colossians 3:23
