Heaven Will Be My Home

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)
This song also appeared on New Life Presents: Acapella by New Life (TN).

Lyrics:

When I think about my troubles and my trials in life's way (they can't be right)
The darkness of this world just can't be right
There's a new day coming closer with each day
A new land's within my sight

I know that my sins are all forgiven (I know they are forgiven)
I know that He watches o'er my life (I know He watches o'er my life)
But when I think of being alone it makes me want to go (when I think of, it makes me want to)
To the place that's free from grief and strife (free from strife)

Chorus:
Heaven's gonna be (Heaven will be), gonna be my home
From my God I nevermore will roam (roam)
(Walking with Him) Walking with Him (I'll never) I'll never be alone
(Whenever) Heaven will be my home

When I come to the ending of this journey here on earth (a crown of life)
A promised crown of life is my reward
There's a city promised from my second birth
I'm going to meet my Lord

I know that my life on earth on is passing (I know that my life is passing)
I know that my visit here is brief (I know that visit here is brief)
But when I think of living with Him my heart begins to yearn (when I think of living with Him)
For the place of comfort and relief (relief, relief)

Heaven's gonna be (Heaven will be), gonna be my home
From my God I nevermore will roam (roam)
(Walking with Him) Walking with Him (I'll never) I'll never be alone
(Whenever)

Repeat Chorus

Scriptural Reference:

Be Merciful Unto Me

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

Let thy mercies come also unto me (also unto me), O Lord
Even thy salvation
According to thy word

Give me understanding to keep (I shall keep) thy law
Yea I shall I observe it
With my whole heart

I entreted thy favor with my whole heart
Be merciful unto me
According to thy word

Give me understanding to keep (I shall keep) thy law
Yea I shall I observe it
With my whole heart

Let thy mercies come also unto me (also unto me), O Lord
Even thy salvation
According to thy word

Amen

Go Tell It

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

Oh won't you go-go-go-go tell it
Tell it to all nations (tell it to all nations)
Oh won't you go-go-go-go tell it
Tell the whole creation (tell the whole creation)
Oh won't you go-go-go-go tell it
If you don't they'll have no hope (go you know)
Jesus told you to teach the word

Oh won't you go-go-go-go preach it
Preach it to the people (preach in to the people)
Oh won't you go-go-go-go preach it
Preach about the good news (preach about the good news)
Oh won't you go-go-go-go preach it
If you don't they'll have no hope (go you know)
Jesus told you to preach the word

Go and tell it (go and tell it), go and preach it, go and teach

Oh won't you go-go-go-go sing it
Sing about the Savior (sing about the savior)
Oh won't you go-go-go-go sing it
Sanctified forever (sanctified forever)
Oh won't you go-go-go-go sing it
If you don't they'll have no hope (go you know)
Jesus told you to teach the word

Go and tell it (go and tell it), go and preach it, go and teach the Word

Not My Will But Thine

Words and music: Keith Lancaster © 1978 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
This song also appeared on Born Again by New Life (TN), Set Me Free by Acappella and The Collection by Acappella.
Producer's Note Excerpt from The Collection:  "I wrote this song over 20 years ago.  In borrowing from a choral, spiritual style, I tried to create the scene at the cross; the defining moment in history.  God became something he was not (sin), so we could become something we are not (righteous)."

Lyrics:

Jesus prayed in the garden and poured out His heart for me
There has been no love shown my mortal as in dark Gethsemane (dark Gethsemane, dark Gethsemane)

He could have chosen not to suffer treatment of the cruelest kind
But the lips of my pure savior uttered not my will but thine (not my will but thine (x5))

Part Ia-

Jesus prayed in the Garden, He prayed oh (repeated)

Part Ib-

Let me tell you what He went through
You know He really didn't have to
He could have easily just walked away
Then He said "not my will but thine" (not my will but)

And they took them and they beat Him and they mocked Him and teased Him
The people kept a cryin oh "We gotta crucify Him"
"Crucify Him! Crucify Him!"
Yet He said "not my will but thine" (not my will but)

Part IIa-

Jesus died on Calvary, He died oh (repeated)

Part IIb-

Well they hung Him there in anger searchin' for some relief
They nailed Him there in public right between the two thiefs
He tasted human torture of the cruelest kind
But yet He said "not my will but thine" (not my will but)

Some were laughin', some were cryin' some were happy at His dyin'
I don't see, I can't see how could this ever be?
Poor Jesus as He hung on the tree He said
"Not my will but thine"

Not my will but thine

Scriptural Reference:

"Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.  Yet not as I will, but as you will."  Matthew 26:39

Rejoice

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

Chorus:
Rejoice, rejoice, let all who trust the Lord rejoice
And ever sing His praise for those He has defended (those defended)
For thou will bless the righteous and guard Him as a shield (thou will guard Him as a shield)
In thee do I put my trust

Give ear, O God unto my words, O Lord, my King
I'll worship in thy fear toward thy Holy temple (toward thy temple)
Because thou has defended, we'll ever shout for joy (we will ever shout for joy)
In thee do I put my trust

Return O Lord, my soul deliver for thy mercy's sake
Lift thyself up in thy name, arise O Lord, awake
I am weary with my growning, judge us Lord this day
Save me from mine enemies for unto thee I pray

Repeat Chorus

Scriptural Reference:

"In that day they will say, 'Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.'"  Isaiah 25:9

Heed His Call

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

Oh will you come to Jesus
His invitation hear
Don't let your life be wasted
For death is drawing near

Chorus:
Your life is but a vapor
That vanisheth away
Oh will you not hear Jesus
And heed His call today

The greatest of decisions
Is only your own choice
The angels now in heaven
Are waiting to rejoice

Repeat Chorus

Don't wait until tomorrow
And Satan's calling heed
Your soul is now in danger
The Savior's blood you need

Repeat Chorus

Scriptural Reference:

"Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord."  Proverbs 16:20

Lyrics:

Through the valley of death (through the valley of death)
I'm sure I must go (I must go)
So the wages of sin
I don't want to know
I'll be judged by the deeds (I'll be judged by the deeds)
And the seed I have sewn (seed I've sewn)
And I'll live with my Savior
While the ages roll on (on and on)

Chorus:
While the ages roll on (while the ages roll on)
While the ages roll on (while the ages roll on)
I'll be with my Lord (I'll be with my Lord)
While the ages roll on (while the ages roll on)

The life I have lived (Oh, the life I have lived)
And the path I have trod ([ath I've trod)
Well, I hope that someday
Will be pleasing to God
When I stand at His throne (when I stand at His throne)
I know I won't be alone (not alone)
Cause I'll be with my Savior
While the ages roll on (on and on)

Repeat Chorus

I Will Sing

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

Oh what love have I found in my Savior
He's my Lord and the master of all (master of all)
I will love Him throughout all the ages
'Cause I've served Him and answered His call
And since I've whipped old Satan (escaped the roar), espcaped the lion's roar
I'll be at home with Jesus (with Him) to sing forevermore

Chorus 1:
I will sing His praise
I will praise His name
I will sing and praise His holy name (praise Him)
I will sing His praise
I will praise His name
I will sing and praise His holy name

How could Paul sing God's praises at midnight?
In the prison so dark and so cold (dark and so cold)
The answer is found in commitment
Jesus made Him so strong and so bold
And if the church is married (will sing His praise), they'll have to sing His praise
And since they've found salvation (And since they sing I know), you'll hear their voices raised

Chorus 2:
They will sing His praise
They will praise His name
They will sing and praise His holy name (praise Him)
They will sing His praise
They will praise His name
They will sing and praise His holy name

Oh if only your heart you would open
And His wonderful gospel obey (gospel obey)
You can live a good life that's worth living
And be singing His praises today
And if you would be happy (He's calling still), He's calling for you still
Obey His gospel (today), He'll save you if you will

Chorus 3:
You can sing His praise
You can praise His name
You can sing and praise His holy name
I will sing His praise
I will praise His name
I will sing and praise His holy name

Scriptural Reference:

"I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing your praise."  Psalm 138:1

Won't You Go?

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

Chorus 1:
Oh won't you go into all of the world
The blessed gospel to all creatures teach
There is no hope without the message of Him
So share it now with the souls you can reach

There are people 'round us losing their souls (people losing their souls)
All because we have failed our task to go (failed to go, failed our task to go)
But the gospel can't be heard by those without the word (heard, without the word)
So take it to the lost so they can know (so take it now, lost so they can know)

Repeat Chorus 1

Chorus 2:
Oh won't you go into all of the world (won't you go to the world)
The blessed gospel to all creatures teach (the blessed gospel preach)
There is no hope without the message of Him (there is no hope without the message of Him)
So share it now with the souls you can reach (so tell the souls you reach)

Our Savior came to pay that awful cost (Savior paid the cost)
To fulfill His love to seek and save the lost (fill His love, seek and save the lost)
But so many can't repent until someone is sent (until someone is sent to ring it out)
To hand out the message of the cross (message of the cross)

Repeat Chorus 2 (x2)

I Want a Faith

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1978)

Lyrics:

I want a faith
I want a faith that moves mountains and Satan can not shake (faith that mountains can not shake)
When I'm tempted or tested, my love he'll never take (he can never take)
I want a prayer that is answered by heaven in its turn (prayer answered in its turn)
To receive words from Christians, whose laws are His concern

I want a faith that is ever so strong and drives out fear (that is ever drives out fear)
Those despised and rejected by foes drawing near (foes so near)
I want a hope that is anchored within His tender care (hope anchored in His care)
And be part of His family, His love and blessings share

I want a faith that in danger can walk the stormy vale (faith that danger walk the vale)
Though by demons surrounded, my trust will never fail (will never fail)
I want a faith that from beauty cries "Here am I, send me" (faith that beauty here send me)
That will love God and serve Him through all eternity

I want a faith
A faith

Scriptural Reference:

"He replied, 'Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'"  Matthew 17:20

This song also appeared as "Talkin' 'Bout Jesus" on New Life Presents: Acapella by New Life (TN).

If I ever need a friend to talk to in this weary world
Jesus is there to help me see it through
In happy times or troubles, every night and day
Tell you what I'm always gonna do

Chorus 1:
I'm a-gonna talk about my Jesus (talk about Jesus)
I'm a-gonna praise Him evermore
I'm a-gonna see (yes, I'm gonna see Him) Him on that shore (see Him on that shore)
I'm a-gonna be with the angels on high
I'm gonna live there by and by, by, by, by
I'm gonna rise to meet my Savior in the sky

If you want to know my Savior you must believe His word
Change your life or always you'll be lost
You must be in His body, confess His blessed name
Follow Him regardless of the cost

Chorus 2:
I've a-been talkin' 'bout my Jesus (talk about Jesus)
Ever since I was born again
And He's done washed (yes, He's forgiven) away my sins (washed away my sins)
Into Him I was baptized
Now my salvation is reali-li-li-lized
I'm gonna serve my Lord and master almighty and wise

I'm heading for that city, I know I'll be there soon
Heaven is a place I surely want to go
Free from grief and sorrow, His promises for me
Tell you how these blessings I can know

Chorus 3:
I've a-been talkin' 'bout my Jesus (talk about Jesus)
And I know He'll take my hand
And He's gonna lead (yes, He's gonna lead me) me to that land (to that promised land)
I'm so happy what I've been told
Soon I'll be walkin' in streets of go-go-go-gold
I'm gonna live with God forever and never grow old
